Penthouse condominium, New York City
This two-story apartment in lower Manhattan provided breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the New York harbor.
Seventeen-foot windows framed dramatic panoramas and set the tone for this high-style modernist space. The furnishings were a mix of mid-century modern – including Scandinavian antiques and pieces by Charles and Ray Eames – and contemporary classics from companies like Knoll and Cassina. Custom built-ins maximized storage space and enhanced the existing architectural themes of the apartment. Bright color splashes added drama while serving as a fitting backdrop for the owners’ collection of global folk art.
